Scenic Helicopter Flights. Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait Islands is a vast wilderness area, with lots of inaccessible terrain and ‘hidden’ natural attractions, including remote waterfalls, tropical isles and sand cays. While you’ve probably been busy exploring some of this country using the red dirt tracks and trails that criss-cross the landscape, the aerial view is something else altogether. The sheer beauty and depth of blues in the endless sea is outstanding, with the green islands of the Torres Strait below, like stepping stones linking Australia with its most northern neighbour, Papua New Guinea. This is a once in a lifetime experience that you don’t want to miss. Contact our team for more information.

The quickest and definitely the most scenic way to get from the mainland to nearby Torres Strait Islands, is by helicopter. Taking off from Punsand Bay beach, you can fly to Horn Island or Thursday Island and keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife, as guests and pilots often report seeing an array of animals including crocodiles, manta rays, sea turtles and dugongs. In addition to the islands, we can also arrange heli transfers from Punsand Bay to Bamaga Airport, which connects the Cape with the country.
