Cape York Update

CAPE YORK TRAVEL UPDATE

Cook Shire Council and most other Cape York shires will be open to visitors from Queensland at midday today, Friday 3rd July.

Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council – NPARC, Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council & Torres Shire Council will keep their borders CLOSED until further notice. Next week these councils will hold a meeting to reassess these restrictions and make a decision on reopening to unessential travellers.

Keep in mind these restrictions and conditions are changing daily.

We suggest to wait until a reopen date has been set to make booking with us.

We will post an update as soon as we know further developments.

Please note, travellers will NOT be able to access the Tip of Cape York or Punsand Bay until further notice as non-residents are unable to cross the Jardine River ferry and enter the Northern Peninsula Area.
